An Affecting Scene.
The celebration of the Jewish festi
val, tb day of atonement, was mark
ed by qnite an effecting ecene in Rich
mond, Va. It seems that a promi
nent member of one of the synagogues
of that city had lately sued for a di
vorce from his wife. On the day of
atonement, however, both appeared
in the synagogue perfectly reconciled
through the intercession of friends
and are now a happy coup'e In ac
cordance with ancient Hebrew cns
torn during the ten days penitence in
tervening between Rosh Hoshannah
and Yrnn Kippur,; they are required
to forget and forgive all grievances
that they may have against their fel
