The Oaraleigh mills are now put
ting in four days la the week. It is
hoped that circumstances will allow

' The court room is a perfect bee
hive of disinterested lookers. In the
meantime many bands are needed in
the country to pick but cotton.
The farmers and mechanics special
excursion to the World's Fair will
leave the city tomorrow morning at
6: 10 o'clock via the Seabord' Air Line.
It is expected that a series of games
of base ball will be played in this city
next week between the Raleigh team
and the young ladies team of New
York. It will be a novel and exciting
event.. .
The appropriation for the Unix
versity of North Carolina in the mat
ter of improvements has been most
judiciously expended, and added
many comforts to the students.
If something is not done on Hills
boro street between the railroad
bridge and Maj Tucker's corner, by
the time the faic -commences there
will be a many a broken wheel. The
street is getting rough.
The price of reserved seats for
Helen Russell's English Sports at the
Academy of Musio next Thursday
