The Detroit Tribune has been con solidated wholly with the Evening News and the combined paper will be called the Detroit News. It will be published as an afternoon paper. The Peoria. 111., Herald-Transcript has moved into its new building, and within a few days its big new press will be installed. When everything is running smoothly, the manage ment promises a formal opening to patrons and friends. The Newscastle, Pa., Herald has just concluded a very successful vot ing contest which it says added sev eral hundred subscribers to its list and at tbe same time created a heal thy interest in the paper.
