The great est and most successful deer hunt. ver known In Granville county or this part of the State, wnn enjoyed ast week a party of Oxford men and i number of friends from neighbor ing towns, going from here and. 'pending four days, camp ng out. A great time was spent, and all return. icllliiB wonderful tales of the trip. Those in the party were: Mr. J. Locke El-win. Mr. -J. B. Roller, Mr. i s. M. Wheeler. Mr. Frank Gregory, nil of Oxford; Mr. McDowell and Mr. Hun ugtis. of Durham. Also Capt. : Oscar Yancey and Mr. J. B. Rlllott, of oxford, who had charge of the hunt. In the four days eleven deer were killed, five of these being captured In one day. i The hunt took place in the northern part of the county. One of the hunt- i ers relates that one of the deer was j chased for several miles and at last ! run down In the town of Stovall.
