(By the Associated Press.)
"Washington, Dec. 13. Forecast
for North Carolina for tonight and
Sunday:
Rain tonight, colder in west por
tion; Sunday fair, colder: fresh west
winds.
The southeast high has remained
practically stationary, and the tem
perature in the south, east of the
Mississippi river, has risen somewhay
The low over Wisconsin yesterday has
moved to the east and has caused rain
along the Lakes and in New York.
Pennsylvania and New England, and
warmer temperatures in those dis
tricts. This low has been followed
by the western high which now over
lies the central Rocky Mountain
states and extends eastward to the
Mississippi river. It has caused a
continuance of the cold weather in
the Rockies and a decided fall in
temperature in the upper Mississippi
Valley. The pressure is falling in
the northwest, accompanied by a rise
in tern petal ure. The low central over
southern Texas is causing heavy
rains in Texas, Louisiana and Arkan
sas. The heaviest rains reported are
1.64 inch at Palestine and 2.44 inches
at Little Rock, The conditions indi
cate that there will be rain tonight in
this vicinity, and the approacn of the
western high will cause fair and
colder weather Sunday.

'ARE YOU A MASON?"
(lOOP SHOW.
What the. Charlotte Observer says
of "Are You a Mason?" which ap
pears at the Academy of Music to
night: "There are two sorts of comedies.
The one is built on broad lines, con
tains a degree of horseplay, and
makes one laueh hoisterously and
slap his knee, maybe. The other is
built on fine lines, contains a subtle
humor, and makes one laugh easier
and feel better Indefinitely) "Are
You a Mason?? which was presented
at the Academy of Music last night,
was of the former type. It was a rol
licking rlttroarious production, and
the fair-sized audience that witnessed
it was kept howling the greater pari
of the time.
"The play is a good production of
its kind a farcical comedy. The
plot was well conceived and well de
veloped, being suggested by the old
excuse of the rounder-husband that
he "has been at the lodge," And it
was well presented, too. No especial
talent was displayed. bill that was
not necessary.
"Not the least enjoyable feature of
the evening was tit" music by the
orchestra, which was led by Director
Don Richardson, and was almost
doubled for the occasion. "
