Pittsburg, Pa., Jan. 28.A . murder trial, the outcome of which will estab lish an important precedent In legal and military circles1, was called here today In the criminal branch of court. Lieutenant Ralph D. Drury and Pri vate John-Dowd? of the Ninth United States Infantry, were placed -on trial charged with the. murder of William Crowley, 18 years old, who on Septem ber 19, 1903, was killed near the United States arsenal by Private Dowd, act-i Ing under instructions from Lieuten ant Drury.
