Washington, Dec. 23. Forecast for North Carolina for tonight and Tuesday: Partly cloudy and colder tonight. Tuesday fair, colder; brisk southwest winds. Weather Conditions. The storm central over western Texas Saturday now lies central over the upper Ohio Valley. It has caused very heavy rains throughout the Southern States east of the Missis sippi River, upper Ohio Valley, the Middle and New England States; and also higher temperatures espe cially along the Atlantic seaboard. An area of high pressure lies cen tral over Nevada, but the pressure in general throughout the west has fallen accompanied by a general rise in temperature. At the following stations over 2 inches of rain has fallen during the past 24 hours: Raleigh, N. C; Macon, Ga.; Mobile, Ala., and New Orleans, ha. The weather will be partly cloudy tonight in this vicinity; and as the eastern storm passes eastward it will be followed by colder weather tonight. Tuesday will be fair and colder. A. H.
