The northwest high is now central weather, the temperature being 38 at Bismarck, N. Dak. The depression central over Lake Superior Is now over the etstern lakes. It has caused somewhat higher temperatures east of the Mississippi river and north of the Ohio. Rains fell generally in the Atlantic coast states and Southern states, being especially heavy at Ral eigh and Hatteras, N. C, and at Gal veston, Tex. The weather in the cot ton belt is cloudy, and the tempera tures have remained unchanged. The conditions indicate partly cloudy with local showers tonight or Sunday in this vicinity. A. H. Meeting Comes to an Knd Perma nent Organization Perfected. The North Carolina Association of the Deaf and Dumb yesterday com pleted its organization In the audi torium of the state school for the blind. This association is something new for North Carolina, and means a great deal to the deaf and dumb citizens of the state. The morning session began at 10 o'clock. "One misfortune doth tread upon another's heel, so fast they follow," or words to that effect. This Is ap plicable to the troubles of one Maude Kelly, a lady of the red light district. Yesterday she was arrested by Dep uty Sheriff Stell on a charge of run ning a disorderly house in Wilson. She was released on giving a $100 bond for her appearance at the next term of court In Wilson. Last night some one dynamited the lady's house on east Davie street, tearing up one corner of it considerably. It is sup posed that this is a gentle reminder that it is high time she was "mov ing on" again. It is not known who did the damage. Death of Ruby May Strickland. Little Reuby May, the seven-months-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Strickland, died at their home at 220 North West street yesterday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock, after an illness of five weeks, during which time she has been a patient little suf ferer. The funeral services will be held from the home this afternoon at 3:00 o'clock and the interment will be In Oakwood cemetery. Mr. Sherron, acting as rural car rier on the route from Lillian, in Oak Grove township, this county, con nected with the Raleigh carrier at Leesville yesterday and on the way from Leesville to Rogers' Store, the two had to cross Barton's creek. All of the streams were swollen and Barton's Creek was all out on the banks. Sherron drove on the bridge, and as he was half way across the bridge gave way, and the bridge, horse and buggy, mailt and all went down the creek. The carrier swam to the other side and pulled himself out. The horse managed to break aloose- i the buggy and was found a half mile down the creek. The buggy and mall were lost entirely. : All of the streams of that section are swollen badly. The carrier, sup plying that section of ' the county, was forced to return to the office to day on account of a creek being too deep to ford. For Sore Feet.
