LITTLE DOING III THE COURT AH Cases On Calendar Settled Without Trial By Jury Judgments Signed Wake Superior Court met at 10 o'clock this morning and adjourned at 10:30 until tomorrow at 9:30. All the cases set for today were compromised or Bettled out of court and all Judge Peebles had to do was to sign judgments. The motion cal endar was gone over today, but was not disponed of. A: consent judgment in the case of C. H. Williamson, administrator of Sharp Pitts, vs. the North Caro lina Kailroud and Southern Railway was signed, the plaintiff recovering ?2G0. In the case of W. W. Williams va. the Raleigh and Southport 'he amount recovered was not specified. A consent judgment was B'gned in the case of H. B. Eldwards vs. the Western Union, the plaintiff getting $300. Tomorrow the case of Dr. J. J. L. McCullers against the board of county commissioners will be heard at chambers. Christian Church Notes. The Christian congregation Hills boro street Christian church, Rev. L. F. Johnson, pastor, is rounding up the best year's work in the his tory of the church. All obligations will be met in full with a good sur plus left for building fund of the church. The Increase In membership and offerings has been highly grat ifying to pastor and people. The congregation contemplate the building of new Sunday school rooms and remodeling the old church; will spend several thousand dollars on the property to meet the demands of a growing Sunday school and congregation. The annual conlerence of the Christians for this district will he held with the , Catawba Springs Christian church, beginning next Saturday. The conference church is located near McCullers station. In Wake county. Meetings of the members of the local cimrch tins week: Official board meeiing at ilie home of W. B. Mann tonight at 8 o'clock; Ladies' Aid Society with Mrs. W. C. Ad kins Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Devotional meetings and church conference Wednesday night ut 7:30 o'clock. LOCAL BRIEFS. The tax books are expected in the sheriff's office in two or three days. Yesterday was one of the most beautiful days of the year and many Raleigh people roamed the woods and fields. A total ot 049 marriage lienses has been issued this year. Of these 407 were for white couples nnd were colored. A part if the Y. M. C. A. proper ty on Eiletiton street will be sold at auction Wednesday at noon two houses and a lot. The case of Dr. McCullers against the board ot county commis sioners will lie heard at chambers before Judge Peebles tomorrow. : The heating plant was in op eration at the courthouse and lail todav.
