The Board for Internal Improvements made their annual Report to the Legislature on iturday last ; and having finished their bu aness, adjourned subject to the call of the President, though it is not .expected the Board will meet again until a new Board be elected. ' - . The Report, as usual, gives a concise view f the objects which have Come under the gnizance of the Board for the past year and recommerul3 others to the notice of the Legislature. Amongst other things, it sug gests the" propriety of the State's taking some f the important Public Works into its own iands, in order that the contemplated objects may' be accomplished with more certainty and promptitude ;,and wiC this view, it recom mends that an arrangement be made with the Cape-Fear Navigation Company, whose ope" rations are at present suspended, provided the Stockholders consent to receive- what shall be deemed, considering all circumstan ces, a proper price for their stock. The Board also recommends that the State sub scribe for 250 of the 500 shares reserved for htrin the Roanoke Navigation Company ; and that books be opened for an additional sub scription t)f f 10,000 to the Clubfoot and Har low Canal, of winch4' it is proposedhat the S'srte take $5,000, so soon as the other 5000 !oll be subscribed by solvent individuals.. 1 i The Report of the Board is accompanied vith ttje following Reports of Mr. Fulton, the Civil Engineer of the State, viz ; on the Washington and Williaraston Canal ; on the Currituck Inlet and Sound ; on the Clubfoot and ITrlow Creek Canal; on the Broad Hi vcr on the Flats below Wilmington ; on the tt.oad over the Brushy Mountain; on the Knadfrom FayettevilTe, by Salem, to Wilkes. Lcrouh; aiidon the Brown i and White Aiarbhes. . The above Reports, vwith a statement of lte recounts of the Board from the com it tncement of its operations, are directed to pruited in pamphlet form for the use of the Members of Assembly, and a few addi tional copies will be published for sale, winch uciy be had at our Bookstore.
