In the case of William Stewart, on trial for the murder of hi3 father, the evidence and pleadings were brought to a close on Satur day, the 27th ult. and the jury, on Sun day evening, brought ina verdict of mur der in the second degree. The testimony was altogether circumstantial and exceed ingly voluminous, occupying seven or eight columns of, the Baltimore papers. The motive of the murderer appears to have been impatience to come into possession of a small estate which his father had be queathed to him by a will, executed only a few weeks before the "murder, which was found in his possession when he was ar rested. The trial has naturally excited great interest in Baltimore. Credit is the poor man's lever, by which he can and does compete with the rich cap talist, upon a footing with him.
