THE PROGRESSIVE FARMER. MARCH 25. 1890. 7 I; f et i - if : j 1 r' f 1 if I: V i if IS I' it V 1 iff ! i 1 I SENATOR TELLER ON OVERPRO DUCTION. In a recent speech in the United States Senate, Mr. Teller is reported to have said : "It might be a question for the con sideration of this body, whether after all it is not a lack of the means of do ing business in this country that has depreciated the price of everything that the farmer raises. . if there was corn rotting in it there was wheat rotting there, if there was rotten and mouldy clothes, the Senate might say the cause was overproduction. But when we con sume all we produce, or find a market for it somewhere, it does not do to sar it is overproduction." ' When people on election day be come excited to such an extent that they will vote for public robbery for the sake of party supremacy they have no one to blame but themselves when the sheriff tells them to "git up and git " and Jeave their homes for some body with tuore sense. F. S. A., Raleigh, N. C, March 20, '90. To Alliance Secretaries : Dear Brethren : The only two fac tories making "Alliance Guano " (one in Richmond, Ya., and one in Durham, N. , C.,) have been burned, but are now in operation. The President of the Company, S. T. Morgan, Esq , assures me that a delay of about one week is all that will be caused. Fertilizer manufacturers and agents will try to make you think that you carit get Alliance Guano, so as to sell you some other. They are also using every device of misrepresentation about our work and goods, and their success depends upon mak , ing our people believe it. JaUF Accept their statements with caution.
