Mr. Green then, in accepting the honor, addessed the Convention in a abort but pointed speech, which was timely and well received. ' dominations being next in order, several names were presented and their qualifications for the various offices "speechified" on, showing con clusively that we havo abundant ma terial in Wake for any emergency. The balloting on the various names for the various oflice3 resulted in the nomination, all made unanimous, of the following ticket: For Sheriff, W. H. J. Goodwin, For Register of Deeds, Geo. L. Ton noltski. For Treasurer, R. N. Wynn. For Coroner, N. E. Gatis. For Survevor, Pittman Stell. For Senate, Rev. H. W. Norris For House, B. B. Buffalo, J. W. Smith, Iiufus Barbee, All the candidates present accepted the honor conferred and pledged hard work, and success if possible. The County Executive Committee appointed by the last county conven tion, thinking it best that this conven tion being more really representative than the other, resigned, that this con vention might appoint another with all the townships represented. On motion it was voted that the chairmen of the to wnship committees constitute tha county executive com mittee. The following list of delegates to Fourth District Congressional Conven tion to meet in Raleigh, Aug. 15th, was appointed : Dudley Peed, W. H. Burt, G. H. Womble, A. W. Thompson, W. M. Arnold, J. R. The following list of delegates were appointed to attend the State Conven tion to meet in Raleigh, Aug. 16th: J. A. Arnold, W. H. Burt, G. H. Womble, Mark Wimberley, II. T. Pennington, C. II. The following resolutions were un anirnously adopted : Resolved, That we favor an honest election and a fair count, and hereby pledge our sacred nonor to do all in our power to secure it, and where present election laws prevent or have a tendency to prevent an honest ex pression of the will of the people, we will amend it. 2. That we favor liberal public edu cation for all the people. 3- That this is a party of the people and we demand equal rights to all and special privileges to none. The following was also adopted : Resolved, That should any vacancies occur on the county ticket, the County Executive Committee shall fill the same, The following resolution was passed dv an entnusiastic ana unanimous vote : Resolved, That the Wake County People's party unanimously endorse trie Umaha plattorm.
