If not speedily relieved, may lead to serious
issues. Where there is difficulty of breath
ing, expectoration, or soreness of the throat
and bronchial tubes, with a constantly irri
tating cough, the very best remedy is Ayer's
Cherry Pectoral. It removes the phlegm,
soothes irritation, stops coughing, and in
duces repose. As an emergency medicine,
Ayer's Cherry Pectoral should be in every
household.
"There is nothing better for coughs than
Ayer's Cherry Pectoral. I use no other
preparation." Annie S. Butler, ICO Pond st.,
Providence, R. I.
"I suffered severely from bronchitis;
but was
CURED BY
Ayer's Cherry Pectoral. It saved my life."
Geo. B. Hunter, Goose River, N. S.
"About a year ago I took the worst cold
that ever a man had, followed by a terrible
cough. The best medical aid was of no
avail. At last I began to spit blood, when
it was supposed to be all over with me.
Every remedy failed, till a neighbor recom
mended Ayer's Cherry Pectoral. I took
half a teaspoonful of this medicine, three
times a day, regularly, and very soon
began to improve. My cough left me, my
sleep was undisturbed, my appetite re
turned, my emaciated limbs gained flesh and
strength and, to-day, thanks to the Pectoral,
I am a well man." II. A. Bean, 28 Winter

Prior to leaving Oxford for the
Senatorial convention at Berea Sat
urday the Third party leaders were
seen in consultation with Republi
cans. Some of the staunchest and
warmest Democrats are Alliunce
men, and they bring the news that
Third partyism is steadily on the
wane.
- Every true Alliance Democrat
should make it his duty to go to work
to save his State and county from
the misrule which now threatens the
people.

The rooms of the Cleceland-Carr-Williams
Club are Democratic Head
quarters for Granv'lle county. Dr.
E. T. Vhite, chaifxirn of the central
committee, has his office there. It
is a busy and business placet.
The attention of the commission
ers of the several counties of the
State where registrars of -election
have not been appointed, is- called to
the fact that these officers "must be
appointed on the first Mxmday in
September. This is important and
must not be overlooked.
How about the Third party lead
ers and white Republican bosses
spending money in Graiwille county
to get the negroes to endorse the
Third p-ii'ty ticket ? It is so rumor
ed. Is it true 1 If it is true,' it is
well for all good people to have their
eyes open and to steer clear of the
allied corruptionists.
The Republican headers have an
easy job to buy up the Third party
hungry bosses. W e have yet to
hear or one that is not tor sale, a
conviction that is strengthened by
their eagerness to betra.y their homes
families and the libericies of their
countrymen for the sake of an office
and its emoluments.
Jordan Potter, who is a colorea
character and a decided Republican,
overheard some darkeys discussing
the matter of fusing with the Third
party. He said : "Dat's right, boys,

The Third party organs are now
on the defensive and they are resort
ing to new tactics. One of them the
Progressive Farmer, charges in its
last issue that a prominent
Democrat at Washington tried to
bribe S. Otho Wilson, one of the
main strikers" of the party, to re
turn to the Democratic fold. The
publication is regarded as a canard.
The Progressive Farmer, speaking
of the return of some of its followers
to the Democratic party, says the
latter "bought them with dogs." The
specific statement is that a fox hound,
was given one to change his vote.
