Host Killing: Time,
J. R. Moore, at Hargrove, has two
pigs cold in death 12 months old,
weighing 700 pounds.
R. W. Starks killed a pig last
week that weighed 275 pounds. He
done his rooting on 3 leg's.
Wm. Fuller is a regular pork raig-
er and seems to have the art down
fine. Some days ago he killed 3
that netted 1,340 pounds. The ques
tion now is -who can beat it?
Walter and James Barnes, two
thrifty young bachelors of Vance,
hung two hogs up last week. They
weighed 385 and 312. As marrying
seems to be the order of the day just
now, can't you get you a handsome
girl apiece to help eat them?
The brusque and fussy impulse of these
days of false impression "would rate down
all as worthless because one is unworthy.
As if there were no motes in sunbeams!
Or comets among stars! Or oataraerts in
peaceful rivers! Because one remedy
professes to i.o what it ver was adapted
to clo, are all remedies worthless? Be
cause one doctor lets his patient die, are
all humbugs V It requires a tine eye and
a finer brain to discriminate to draw the
differedtial line.
"They say" that Dr. Pierce's Golden
Medical Discovery and Dr. Pierce's Fa
vorite Prescription have cured thousands.
"They say" for a weak system there
nothing better than the "Discovery," and
that the "Favorite Precxiption" is the
hope of debilitated, feeble woman who
need a restorative tonic and bracing ner
vine. And here's the proof

mas supplies. We wish each and all

j weighed 311 and the other 300. They

Cupid is still swinging around the
circle with his arrow of love and
bliss. His arrow this time extended
from Oxford to Greenville and ono
of our admirable young men has be
come a willing victim. On Wednes
day morning at 8 o'clock Mr. J. D.
Bullock, one of our prominent leaf
dealers, was married to Mia Annio
Brown, one of the amiable and at
tractive maidens of the little city on
the Tar.
Mr. and Mrs. Bullock, accompan
ied by Messrs. Robt. Hester and F.
P. Meadows arrived in Oxford Wed
nesday evening. A reception was
tendered the happy couple at the
Irvin Place, which was quite a pleas
ant affair.
Our best wishes go with them
through life.
