They go to live with his son Mr. Jim Hart near Mountain Creek church. 'Tis sad to part with those who have made us such good neighbors. Truly it can be said that their mission has been to visit the sick and afflicted and minister to their wants. Their Christian life and influence has been a blessing to those who lived around them. Listen out boys for another wed ding in this section judging from the Dresses that are being made and buggies being repaired Mr. P. L. Thomasson has killed the largest hogs we have yet heard of as they tipped the beam at 41G and 321. The writer killed a pig 11 months old that weighed 2S0 lbs. Several more larger ones are to be killed in this community. On last Saturday night the death angel called at the home of Dr. J. VV. As soon as the crowd was seated as nearly as could be then the candy and applas were handed around much to our delight. Misses Emma, Maude and Louise entertain ed their company in a charminer style and every one seemed to have a nice time. The least we can sav of this party is that it was the nices't of the season, no whiskey no pro fane language and in short nothing but a good time. But the moments fly and the party could not last al ways and long before we realized that we had been there so long the hour had arrived to go home. The night of Nov. 30ih will long be re membered by all who were present and we hope that the bad lessons which were said on Friday will not keep us from having the pleasure of going to another at Professor's be fore the school closes. The Oxford tobacco market sells all the tobacco in this section and feel sure that our people obtain as much for their labor in selling at anywhere, as Oxford has good buy ers and soul warehousemen. He kill ed a few days ago one pig that weignea pounas ana rour pigs 12 months old that weighed 255, 271, 287, 292, and has four large one to bill later. Mr. and Mrs. Ruff Gooch, of Hes ter, visited the Nance Carpet factory a few days since, and were much pleased with the operations. They were conducted through the build ing and shown the machinery by the President Miss Milly. Dr. Morris and Mr. Pittard were also visitors and were shown courtesies. Look out Bro. Leopold or you'll get left. We counted up nine Ministers of the Gospel living in Oxford. Now out of that number how many haye been out and preached at the poor house? If a single one, it has not been noted in the Public Ledger. We think the county should build a house of worship at the Home and employ preachers to yisit, preach and pray with the inmates, at least twice each month. Dr. J. A. From our last Whisper ings some people were under the im pression that the Doctor was going to move to Oxford, such is not the r w i ... case, ne will remain in the citv of Wilton, and will soon be in a new dwelling on Oxford Avenue No. 112, He is now boarding with W.
