NEW PASSENGER STATION. A Correspondent Gives Ills Opinion About the Best Site. Editor of T;ie Day. Soon our new passenger de pot will be perma nently located, alid, as it is a matter of importance to. that the location the people of Oxford should be convenient to the business centre of the town, it behooves us to speak now or hereafter hold our peace, j Recently the Richmond & Danville Co. purchased ihe Kivett machine shop place on McClannahan street, it was generally thought as a site for this depot. This l$t fronts one of our widest streets; is leasily reached and is probably the tesl that could be gotten in the town. It was believed, until, a few days ago, that it was a settled thing that the depot vould be put there, but land improvement company no. 2 offers to give tne R. & D. a site two or three hundred; yards higher up on opposite side of the track, in the direc tion of Stovall." j Will this latter loca tion suit the people of Oxford?
