Parents Should Take Interest
In regard to your school, parents
have duties to perform, which they
can ill afford to neglect. They
should show to their children that
they have an interest in the school.
They should examine carefully the
-reports sent by the teacher, should
see that their children are in school
every day, and punctual; should
assist and encourage their children
to do all their school duties - faith
ful lyand veil ; should co-operate
with the teacher in securing prompt
return of their children home after
school is dismissed; should make a
friendly visit to the school, and
talk freely with the teacher and
principal in regard to same. :

representing more than 22;000
Masons. There are 412 lodges in
North Carolina, and besides a rep
resentative from each of these
lodges, there are a large number
of members who came as visitors
to the Grand Lodge.
The . report of Grand Secretary
John C. Dre wry has iust been com
pleted, and shows something of the
conditions of the order in the State
both numerically and financially.
Mr. urewry reports that there has
heen a general revival of interest
throughout the State, and that the
omcials of the various subordinate
lodges have been prompt and ac
curate in turning in their reports
and in sending in the funds collect
ed. Nine new lodges were institut
ed during the year just closed; and
all of these have started off well.
Not a single lodge has bean drop

showing which is very creditable
indeed, and which is hot vprv of
