In view of the extraordinary situa tion presented by the unemployed in Oxford and of the pressing need of timely aid, the ministers and repre sentatives of all the local churches assembled at the Baptist church Sun day afternoon for the purpose of or ganizing a Board of Charities for the town of Oxford. The meeting was largely attended by all denominations and the spirit of co-operation was manifested in a united effort to keep the "wolf from the door" of those who are worthy of aid in the hour of Dr. A. P. Tyer was called to the chair, and after stating the object of the meeting Mr. Frank Pinnix was requested to act as secretary of the Meeting. Dr. Horsfield, Gen. B. S. Royster requested all those repre senting the various churches and societies to meet at his office this Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock.
