Irish Potatoes Did you raise any of those $4.00 Irish potatoes the Public Ledger advised you to plant lat spring in that field you "let lie out" this rear? - Well, if you had doe so, those $4.00 potatoes would now command $4.50 to $5.25 a bar rel and would have a "cracking good start" for $6.00 a barrel before Christmas. Better plant some now for an early spring crop. Fall planted potatoes and onions always "hit" well. Lang, of Salt Lake City, at the Shoreham. "Mr. Bam berger came to this country from ermany a poor and friendless boy, but by dauntless energy and an am bition that never yielded to reverses, wursea nis way to the front, amd for many years has been recognized as one of the leading financiers of the West. Two years ago, when Senator. Reed Smoot was a candi date ior re-election, the friends of Mr. Bamberger wanted him to run, but he gave way to another. Senator Smoot narrowly escaped defeat, and it is still believed by our political experts that if he and Bamberger had been pittde against each other Smoot would have lost.
