The strains of a dreamy waltz were filling the bis ball-room when (Jug; Maxwell came to claim his part ner. It was the beginning of the winter season in Southern California, and Hotel del Cornado was filled to overflowing with guests escaping from the cold Kastern winter. The dance was merely the ordinary Sat urday evening one, but the floral decorations had the appearance of some large function. Neither .Maxwell nor his partner spoke, and before the music ceased he stopped rather abruptly, and say ing: "Shall we go outside?" led her through the door on to tne glass veranda which runs the whole length of the hotel on the side front ing the sea. "I remember everything," she an swered, softly. "It is twoyears ago now, Isn't it?" "Two years ago," he repeated, "and to me It seems a lifetime." Sybil Delaunay shivered a little and her figure lost Its haughty alert ness. "1 I hoped you had forgotten," she said tremulously. He laughed bitterly. "I heard you had left New York, but no one seemed to know where you had gone." "Yes, I left New York, gave up my profession and came here, as far away as I could get, my one desire being to escape from anything and everything that reminded me of you." "Y'ou live here then?" "Near here, In the mountains. I have a ranch." "You are happy now; you have forgotten?" she almost whispered. "NATURE'S BREW.' Buffalo Lithia Water lias Demonstrated Its Extraordinary Curative Power in The Treatment of Disease. The value of mineral waters in the treatment of many diseases has long been recognized. In fact, many of these springs, located in different parts of the country, had been re sorted to long before any analysis of the waters had been made. Years ago people living in Mecklen burg county, Virginia., learned of the extraordinary curative power of the water from several springs situated In that part of the county known as the "Buffalo Hills," and it was but a short time after this when these wa ters became famous for their high per cent, of lithium salts. No other mineral waters from any part of the world are more widely known or have higher medical en dorsements than Buffalo L,lthla Wa ter. An English clergyman makes a business of syndicating sermons," said a drummer who had just return ed from London. "How do you mean?" some one asked. "Well," explained the drummer, "the clergyman writes a sermon, and then he prints about forty or fifty copies of it, and he offers to one preacher in each of forty or lifty towns the exclusive use In his own town of the production. The price of the sermon to each man is only 50 shillings, but if 15 or 20 men take it it brings to the syndicator, you see about 100 shillings. And since the sermons are so short that one can be done in a morning, that Is pretty good pay. The syndicator adver tises his sermons in a religious paper. The notice reads: "A clergyman of experience and moderate views, who distinguished himself during his university course in divinity and English composition, will furnish original sermons, in strict accordance with the Church of England, In good print, at 5 shillings each. Only one copy will be given in any diocese. A specimen will be sent If wished for. Sermons made to order, on any required subject, on reasonable terms." Philadelphia Record.
