She gained rapidly in weight, color and strength."' Mr.W. H. GILMORE, Durand, Mich. " My two children, who were puny and ailing, rapidly gained flesh and strength when I began to give them Vinol. I proved that Vinol is a splen did tonic for delicate children." Mrs. C. ALLEN, New Bedford, Mass. Vinol builds up healthy flesh and makes thin little limbs round and plump. HAMILTON DRUG CO., Oxford. i . j?Frr Better to be Sore Befere&asiS Than to be Sorry Afterwards Q How many, many times women have been heard to say "I wish I had bought a Singer ! " 3 Some of them own bargain-sliore ma chines which were represented to be "as good as the besl:, and cheaper." A little use soon uncovered their weaknesses and the loss or break of a part left them utterly useless and a waste of money. I The only way to avoid the tricks of irre sponsible 'dealers' is to buy a Singer direct from the maker. . Cj Then you know beyond any doubt that you are getting the besl: sewing machine made for the lowest price at which a reliable machine can be sold. And you will have no reason to be sorry afterward. Wherever you are there's a Singer Store near by to promptly supply parts, make repairs, give expert assistance. tj Be sure beforehand get a Singer. i - ELOPERS CAUGHT. r JJretty Fifteen-year-old Girl Taken in Custody Here and Man With whom i She Eloped Was Arrested at North Wilkesboro. -tJreensboro Record, the 7th.. The police this morniing, acting apon Instructions over te long dis tance telephone from Mr. Geor?e Win jfrey of Kernesville, took into cus ody a pretty f if tee.n-y ear-old girl nam d Florence Wimfrey and fiie was de tained at police headciniarters until A deputy sheriff from Kernesville ar rived on the noon train and took ner 2ack to Kernesville. . .The girl admitted that w& ran away from Keraesvillie Saturday eve ring at 7 o'clock with an express messenger named Clarence Caudle Raid they drove through the coun try to South Carolina and were mar lied, coming to Greensboro yesterday at noon. She said they were mar ried in a large white house in the country and that she believed the ceremony was genuine. The nolice however, think that it was a fake marriage, the ceremony being per formed by a confederate of Caudle'o because they figure that the couplt couM not have driven all the way to South Carolina and back within the time mentioned by the girl Thev believe the marriage took place some where several miles in the country When the girl was taken to police headquarters Chiei of PoDice Neel ley telephoned to her father, William .vinfrey, at Kernersville, telling him that the girl would be kept under survedlance here until someone came after her and that Caudle left here on the 8.15 train this morning on his regular run to North Wilkesbo-f- Mr. Winfrey then wired to Nor th Wilkesboro to arrest Caudle.which was done and a deputy sheriff left Iveroesville on the next train to bring him back there. Not Caught Up. A Iman who was traveling Ozark mountains on horseback stopped be lor a typical Arkansas farmthouse to inquire the way. What's tlie news?" asked the mountaineer, as he leaned his lank frame against the fence and pulled his long beard thoughtfully. On finding that what nad become a part of history was news to him the traveler asked Why he. did not take some weekly or monthly periodical that he might keep in touch, with the world at large. "Wall," said the old native'when my pa died, nine years ago, he left rue a stack of newapapert that hii." indicating a height of a!)oitt three feet "and I ain't done rea&in' 'em yet.' Brooklyn Life.
