Miss Lila Currin has returned from Enfield where she taught the past winter. Mrs. H. C. Pinnix has purchased a Gardner Car and is now enjoying some pleasant drives. Mrs. John B. Booth left Wed nesady for a two weeks visit to Vir ginia Beach. Mr. Edgar Reece has accepted a position with Taylor Bros, for the summer. Mrs. WT. H. Upchurch and little daughter have gone to Sampson county to visit relatives. Miss Annie Gray Burroughs has returned to her home near Dabney after a years' work in High School. Misses Lucy Culpepper and Mary K. Webb have returned to their homes. Mr. and lIrs. N. M. Ferebee lave returned from a visit to Mrs. Stamps Howard in Tarboro. t Miss Francis Howard has re turned to her home in Greensboro after a visit to Miss Helen Clement. Mrs. E. P. Tride, of Warrenton, lias returned home from a pleasant visit to Mrs. C. F. Humphlett. Mrs. John Cardwell of Peters burg, Va., is visiting her friend Mrs. C. F. Humphlett, Broad Street. Miss Jeannette Biggs is attend ing the St. Mary's Conference in Ra leigh. Master Johnny Niles is confined to his home with a sprained. ankle, the result of a fall from a tree. Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Morton Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Matthews spent the week end in South Boston. Mr. S. C. Morton Sr., of South Boston, is visiting his son, Mr. S. C. Morton Jr., on College Street. Mrs. B. S. Royster and Miss Dorothy Royster will entertain in honor of Mrs. John B. Mayes, Jr., this afternoon. -Misses Ethel Ross of Durham and Temperance Aycock of Pantego spent the week end with Miss Hixie White. Prof. I. H. Butt is attending the St. Mary's Conference at Raleigh af ter which he will return to his home in Chapel Hill for the summer. Misses Mary Owen and Eliza beth Niles are at home from school in Washington. Miss Owen was a student at Miss Madeira's school and Miss Niles at the Cathedral. Miss Laura Clement a member of the High School Faculty left for her home in Mocksville on Wednes day. Miss Sarah and Master Augus tus Hall wero operated on in Dur ham Thursday for enlarged tonsils. They are both doing nicely. Mr. W. W. Fuller has returned from attending the Baraca-Phila-thca Convention in Wilson. He re ports a mosf interesting and enjoy aole meeting. . -T Mr. Joe Taylor has returned to Chapel Hill to resume his studies af ter a visit to Oxford to' see his bro ther Rives Taylor finish at the Ox ford High School. Miss McKinnon, of Wadesboro, has returned to her home after a successful year's work in the Oxford Graded Schools. Mr. George Cannady, of Dunn, and well known to the people of Ox ford and Granville county, passed through Oxford Wednesday with his pretty daughter, who was a student at Greensboro College for Women last session.
