SEPTEMBER 7. 1920 CASTOR IA For Infants and Children In Use For Over 30 Years Always bears the Signature of CHARLOTTE LIKELY TO GET BAPTIST HOSPITAL Local Committee Expects to Offer $100,000 as inducement to Offi cials. The Charlotte Observer says that the prospects for the location of the 'proposed $250,000 Baptist- hospital in Charlotte are good, according to leading Baptists who say $100,000 is expected to be offered by Char lotte as inducement to the Baptist state convention. "Dr. Luther Little, pastor of the First Baptist church, and chairman of the committee named to select the site, states that the local commit tee holds options on several proper ties in Charlotte deemed suitable for the. Baptist institution. "Dr. Little will appear before the state convention meeting in Ashe ville in November and present the data offered by North Carolina cit ies. The convention will have final "say-so" in the matter, but, it is said, will be influenced by the rec ' ommendatiQU of the committee head ed by Dr. Little. "The Baptist hospital will have both pay and charity wards, but its; charity wards will be a feature of F the institution. Since the hospital will be mainlined by appropriations from the $75,000,000 fund raised last year, no funds will be asked of city or county officials, promoters NOTICE RESIDENCE PROPERTY OWNERS The Health Officer has the right to assume that every resident property owner in Oxford has learned that there is a law requiring that no person shall maintain or use a residence located within 300 YARDS of another residence without a sanitary pfrivy, unless the owner be connected with town sewerage, or have septic tank for the disposal of human waste. Notice is given that the county Health Officer has had directions to proceed against all violators of this law. He does not like this meth od of slving Oxford's safety problem. Oxford's safety is the safety of every property owner or his tenant. 'Therefore the law should in the interest of every individual be complied with without prosecution. It is safer, pleasanter, less trouble. Every owner or tenant is hereby called upon to be a law abiding citizen, team promptly how to comply with this public need and law, get his privy right, AND DO IT NOW! Prosecution will have to follow inspection which finds an insanitary privy. No compromise privy! That is to gamble with sickness and death. It must be fly and mosquito proof. It must be prperly ventilated. It must not overflow with water from any source. Seat covers must fit fly tight, . and must be hinged securely, and close 'automatically, diet these points, or it will not pass.
