SUXDAY AFTER ASCEXSIOX-
Yesterday was Holy Thursday, al'j: called Ascension Day, clods:
the forty days of the Eissn Lord's earthly life and counsel.. .The
Saviour's Glory is presented in the Creed in a succession of facts
corresponding with the facts of His life of humiliation. Confess
ing the lowliness of His Conception, Birth, Crucifixion, Suffering,
Death and Burial, we also confess the Glory of His Descent into
Hell, His Resurrection, Ascension, and His place on the Right Hand
of God. Step by step we trace the entrance of Christ into tne
world of spirit, His new Birth into the fulness of a glorified hu
manity, His exaltation to the Throne of God, His present sover
eignty; no more death, no limit now to the energy of an indisso
luable life. He Lighted the dead, Rising again, He taught the
veiled glory of things seen. Ascending in His humanity, He
interpreted the words "in Christ". Sitting at God's Right Hani
He shows an accomplished work, efficient for Believers for all
time.
