The water supply from'l the Sacramento River was pumped into the mains, for a least one day with out being sterilized, and an epidemic followed. Eighteen typhoid victims pooled their interests and sued the city for damages. They were award ed $32,821, the largest individual amount being $12,500. —If your wife laughs at your joke, you can be sure that it's either a good joke, or you got a good wife.
