Of interest here is the wedding
of Miss Virginia Ann Miller of
Memphis, Tewn., and Dr. James
Norwood Rowland of Oxford, which
took place March 20 at the home of
the bride's parents in Hazel. Ky.
The Rev. Leslie R. Putnam of
Murray, Ky,, performed the single
ring' ceremony which was marked
by simple dignity and beauty.
The bride wore a mist-green, two-
piece dress cut on simple lines, with
which she used brown accessories.
.She wore an orchid at her shoul
der.
Mrs. Loren S. Putnam, sister of
the bride, was matron of honor,
and Dr. Joseph R. Milter, brother
of the bride, was best man.
Mrs. Rowland is the daughter of
Dr. and Mrs. E. W, Miller of Hazel,
Ky. She received her BS degree
from Murray State Teachers Col
lege and for the past few years has
been employed as secretary to the
president of Southern College of
Optometry, Memphis, Tenn.
Dr. Rowland is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. C. H. Rowland of Raleigh. He
is a graduate of the Southern Col
lege of Optometry, Memphis, Tenn.,
and for the past several months haS
been engaged in the practice of his
profession in Oxford.
The couplel eft immediately fol
lowing the wedding for a trip which
included the Blue Ridge Mountains,
the Shennandoah Valley and Wash
ington. They are making their
home in Oxford at 119 Military
Street.
