The I request should specify the name I and number, of the publication de- I sired. I The 12-page circular on tobacco curing was prepared by R. R. Ben- ! nett and S. N. Hawks, extension to- 1 bacco specialists, who emphasize 1 the ineed for curing economy and ^for improvement in leaf quality as ' influenced by the curing process. “Each year,” says the authors, “it is difficult to find* any tobacco on the warehouse floor that does not show some abnormal condition which reflects improper curing.'’ While pointing out that it is im possible to give a formula by which all tooacco can be cured, they do offer a number of suggestions which they believe will prove helpful in .supplementing the previous experi ence, of the individual grower. D. E. Ellis, a.ssociate profe.ssor of plant pathology for the Experiment Station, and H. R. Garriss, plant pathologist for the Extension Ser vice, prepared the bulletin on late tomato blight, a fungus disease v/hich reduces the North Carolina tomato crop by thousands of bush els each year. They report that ex cellent control of the disease has been obtained with “fixed” copper sprays and dusts, such as tribasic copper sulfate, cuprous oxide, and Copper oxychloride.
