Quest ten Where shxttid you di rect your eyes in meeting cars at night ? Answer: In dayiight driving you center your car between the cen teriine and the right shouider ol the road. In the driver's position you see where the right edge of the pavement "cuts " the hood of your car. Thus, at night when you are meeting Minding tights, you should maneuver your car to keep the hood in the same position relative to the pavement. If you direct your eyes across the hood to the edge of the pavement, you ought to be able to maintain proper position. Question: How may a trucker sig nal "clear ahead " or danger to drivers behind? Answer: From his higher posi tion overlooking the road a truck driver can see the area ahead is clear before the driver of a passen ger car behind can tell whether it is safe to pass. Answer: Normat driving speed is the speed around which most ve hicies travei. Any speed that is ab normaiiy higher—or tower—creates a condition where iots of passing is necessary. ASC To Offer Aid To More Producers One objective of Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Of fices' throughout the state next year wit] be to reach every farmer who has not participated in ASC's con servation program for a number of years. H. V. Mangum of the state ASC office, reports that aii counties in the state have been requested to make a special analysis of partici pation in the Agricuiturai Conser vation Program for 1952 through 1955. The resuits of this anaiysis wiii be used in each office in a concerted attempt to reach new farms and new farmers, he said. Farmers in this state in 1956 wilt have an opportunity of making bet ter use of their Agricuiturai Con servation Program than they ever had before. Mangum emphasized With aiiotments on tobacco, pea nuts. cotton, wheat, and com, and with the need to shift production from some of the acreage in these crops, aii farmers have an opportu nity to use the Agricuiturai Con servation Program in the seeding of grasses and legumes. In doing this, farmers will not oniy be help ing to bring production into bal ance. but they wiii be building re serves in the soii for future needs. The seeding of grasses and le gumes is only a part of the job of most effective conservation. To ob tain the maximum in stands and growth, Mangum points out, most soiis require the appiication of time and minerals, and the Agri cultural Conservation practices pro viding for appiication of these ma terials are an important part of next year's conservation effort.
