Ronnie Hicks, son of Rev. and Mrs. Ronald Hicks has been sick at his home this week. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Whltesell and baby daughter. Lynn, of Pine hurst. spent the week-end with the Clarence Jones. YWA members of Enon Church and their counselor were guests at the WMS meeting Friday afternoon when It met with Mrs. Ernest Bakes. Mrs. J. T. Yancey, presi dent. presided, and presented Mrs. O'Brian, who gave the devotional Julianna Yancey and Linda Knott presented a skit on the changes that have taken place In the styles, customs and living conditions of young women since the YWA was organized 50 years ago. Several members took part on the program with emphasis on the 50th anniver sary of YWA. Mrs. O'Brian gave the closing remarks. During the business meeting, plans were made for the week of prayer for Home Missions and for the mission study class. The project for the WMS next mo^th is writing letters to the members of church and community who are away from home. A social hour was enoyed while ,the hostesses Mrs. Ernest Eakes. Mrs. Elam Currln and Mrs. L. R. Daniel served refreshments. Off for California Lt. McLendon Morris of the U. S. Marines, left Thursday by auto for Camp Pendleton, Calif., where he will be stationed a few weeks before leaving for an overseas assignment. Mrs. Eloise Bigger and Mrs. Flora Pruitt visited Mrs. Pruitt's daughter, Mrs. Ruby P. Taylor, who is a patient in N. C. Memorial Hospital, Chapel Hill. Tuesday. Mrs. Taylor, who underwent surgery last week, is doing Tine and expects to come home soon. Mr and Mrs. Bradsher Powell and four children of South Boston were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Randolph Yancey Sunday. Other guess of the Yanceys included Mr and Mrs. Spurgeon Puckett. Mrs. William Cherkas, Mrs. Charlie Hob good, Mrs. James Thomas and Mrs. Ben Daniel, of Virgilina, Va. On Monday, their guests included Mr. and Mrs. Marsh Puckett. Mrs. Lillie Yancey, mother of Randolph Yancey, fell and bruised her back last week, but Is now able to sit up some in her room and en joy her visitors. Shtriey Currin is stay ing with his brother in Oxford. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Knott and famiiy had as guests for dinner on Wednesday. Mr. Knott's nephew, James Stevens of Gamer. Birthday Dinner Mrs. Crawford Daniei entertain ed at her home with a supper on Thursday night honoring her sister. Mrs. Taiton Hughes. Jr., on her birthday Piaces were laid for Mr. and Mrs. Hughes.
