Hall next Sunday at 9.45 o'clock a. m. Some of our old citizens think the largest crowd ever in Salisbury was here last Saturday. ' Col. T. J. Sumner attended the meeting of the connty Board Mon day and presided with his usual dig nity. Miss Mary Jones Beall, of Le noir, was in the' city last week, and left for New York where she will spend the winter, Monday night. Mr. R. I.. Ramsay left for Phil adelphia last Monday to finish his course in dentistry. Robt. is an in genious fellow land will get through all right.' j Hurrah for Beall & Co.! They have got all that they can do to keep , up with their, orders. Their well known grade "Piedmont Belt" take's the lead. We are getting tired waiting on persons who have been promising to haul us wood for the paper. Win ter is now upon us and we are need-, . ing the wood promised. Please bring it with out further delay. J McCubbins & Henderson, cotton buyers, will have their cotton office atJ.M. Brown's store, on Main Street. Don't fail to call on them, if you want highest cash prices, for cotton and cotton seed. The late frost will do some little rln macro hut. nnthSnrr Itlra urhaf cmviu estimate. Even in the extrem South i wheVe the seasons are naturally much longer, a frost at this time wonld not damage the crop one-tenth. But there will be diversity of opinion. What has become of the sewer age question? This matter should not be allowed to slumber nor sleep It is a vital matter. The future health of the town depends upon it. Now is a good time to talk about and press it. Our Hebrew, citizens observ ed the Feast of Yom Kipper, or Day of Atonement, last Saturday and their places of business were all closed. The day began at 6 o' clock Friday evening and continued to t o'ciock saturaay evening. The day is observed as one of repentance and confession of sfcis, and for repar ation for offenses given and wrongs committed. We were in error in stating last week that Messrs. John S. Hender son and John A. Boyden had offered the Milibridge Alliance ground here for their Fair. It was Mr. A. H. Boyden. Mr. Henderson apd A. H. Boyden renewed their prapositjon before the Alliance here last Satur day and offered the use of 2ft ncrps for 25 years, if the Alliance would inove .their Fair to this place. There is a new candidate iu the field. Mr. A. H. Boyden announces that he will buy cotton with Mr. J. B. Lanier. Mr. Boyden has had considerable experience as a cotton buyer and he and Lanier will be a strong team. With the number of buyers we now have there will be no excuse for any one in this county carrying cotton to any other market. uur buyers will give tne highest t price. 'r Baldy Boyden who will buy cot ton here this fall and winter has had several years' experience as a cotton buyer and will know just what he b doing.
