THURSDAY, JANUARY 2, 1889. GRADY. - It is said that misfortunes never coin? singly, ana J' as tbia sejeins to be true vfrith iniividials, so with nations. SvGinsburg, the polite and gentle manly ferman, complimentary to his many young lady and gentleman friends of Hyde county, came off t the Tooly House on Tuesday De cember 17th. The house of recep tion was opened at 7 o'clock p. m. at which time the young ladies ac companied by their beaux, catered the reception room which was special ly prepared by taking ajvay a parti tion and making One room out of two, which was amply sufficient to Accommodate the crowd. The mu sic was excellent, being the !.;mjo and violin, -and 'the seltcted ongs as played by Proff ssors Tooly and Cartwright seemed to be in harmony with . the occasion . Fertile imagina tion says the merry laugas, the soft whispers of. undying love,, the plighted faith of constancy, hope, and last, "but aot least, disparage ment in love told their tell-tales in a few short hours. Variety seemed to be tlie design of Mr. Gmsbufg, and at an early hour notice was giv en that the court house had been brushed and dusted that music would be furnished and all who liked could encase "in a dance. The crowd di vided, part going to the dance room, the rest remaining in the reception room. After about an hour all re paired to! the" deception room, and then a tap of the bell, thence the word supper from Mr. Ginsburg, and the summons was obeyed, not a rush, no confusion or disorder, but a'wcll planned movement, and hundred and fifty ladies and gent'e- men stood around the long table laden with 'the choicest delicacies of modern life spread in tte spacious dinning room of the Tooly House. The waiters were: J. M. Spencer, S. S. Mann and G. Brinn under the supervision of Mr. Ginsburg. Supper being completed the crowd divided, part going to the court house to take..i)art in the tUnce.' About the hour of 11 .o'clock all gathered at the recept:ou , room to take chances in a pair of party cakes specially prepared, each cake con taining three pieces of silver coin with "the understanding that the lady and gentleman- getting coin .of the same value should plight their faith tcj marry . Just here, how anxious our gallant young men became, each wishing for a telescope with lens suf ficient to pierce opaque bodies that they might see the money concealed inthe slices of cake. The -follow-, ingjwere the fortunate ones: Mr. J. M. Spencer and Miss Bettie Tooly , Mr . S . S. Barber and Miss Mamie Bonner, Mr. O.S.How ard and Miss Lelia 'Swindell. "The young ladies and gentleman acknowl edge themselves indebted to Mr. Ginsburg for the entertainment giv en comblimeiitary to them, and high ly appreciate the special attention given each one present, and extend good wishes of success to him in ; al 1 his business relations. The 3roung people further tender their thanks to their host and hostess of the Tooly House for favors and courtesies shown them. ".' W. v Ingalls, the satiric and viuegar ish, is after poor little uBenny lIar-rison"- and . even "graiiflfather'.s hat" cannot shield him from the venomous chat of the Kansas Sen ator. Here is the latest: 4iGen.. Benjamin Harrison deser ves more thanks from the Demo crats than from his own party. The measure of Gen. Harrison has been taken: a snuffy, com sion place Hoo sier is viseble but nothing more. As brilliant as a blue book, as in spiring as fire-damp as comman ding as an old cow, Gen. Harrison toddles along his narrow path of politics with no more majesty than Baby McKee, his most trusted ad viser, 'displays from the dizzy height of Cheap John Wanama ker's velocipedes. Messenger. ' ; Ex-Sen a0r McDonaldt of Indiana, says President Harrison's adminis tration has greatly strengthened the Democracy in that State, jte believes the people of Indiana are a unit, in laboring the renomina tion of Mr. Cleveland. : Inherited Blood Poison. How many - people there are whose distress from sores,, aches, pains and eruptive tendencies are due to inheri ted blood poison. Bad blood passes from parent to chill, and it therefore is the duty ot husband ana wife to keep their blood pure. This is easily accom plished by a timely use o'f Blood Balm. Sepd to Blood Balm Co., Atlanta, for book of most convincing proof. james Hill, Atlanta, Ga., writes: My two sous afflicted with blood poison, which doctors said was hereditary. They both broke out in sores aud erupt ions which B. B. B. promptly , control led and finally cured completely." Mrs. S. M 'Williams, Sandy, Texas, writes: "My three poor afflicted chil dren, who inherited blood poison,, have improved rapidly after a use of B B. . It Is a Godsend.";' .. J. K. Wilsoi, Gleh Alpine Station; N C, Feb. 13. 18S5, writes: ""Bone and blood poison forced me to have leg am putated, andon the stump there came a large ulcer, which grew worse and worse every day until doctors gave me up to die. T only weighed 120 ponads when I began'to take B. B. B. and 12 bottles increased my weight to 180 lbs., and made me sound and well. I never knew what good health was before." - 29t4.
