The fight against the treaty

says positively that "the treaty
with Spain will not be ratified."
He is probably letting his hopes

Mr. Mitchell Dead.
On Monday afternoon, Dec.
26th, there passad over the river
one of our county's oldest and
most respected citizens, Mr.
Napolean Mitchell, in his 73rd
year. About three weeks pre
vious to his death, that dread
disease, paralysis laid its hand
upon him and he never survived
the shock. He connected him
self with the Methodist church
when quite a young man and
when death came he was ready.
He was a member of the Ma
sonic order and held in the
highest esteem by all who knew
bim. The once happy home
now has the vacant chair. He
lsaves an aged widow and eight
living children behind. May
they follow in his footsteps,
walk as he walked. The funer
al was held from the residence,
about two and a half miles
from town, the interment in
Oakdale, conducted by Rev.
Dr. Nash and Rev. Mr. Jones.
