Thompson who for the last year occupied the barber shop adjoining Dr. Gallagher's drug store, has opened up a shop on Market street adjoining the store of Mr. J. M. Mayo. Thompson is one of our best barbers, in the late campaign voted the Democratic ticket, and we bespeak for him a share of the public patronage. Dr. Biltinger, manager of the Gas works, tells us machinery is now on the way here to double the capa3ity of the chemical and gas works. Carpenters began this morning to construct a mam moth building for this purpose. This enterprise is one our citi zens should encourage., Home labor is employed and our city receives all the benefit.
