O A school book is just as essen- tial as the building or tne teacn er, and why shouldn't books be provided along with the other two. The State could save much by buying in big lots and thus school books would cost far less than now. This plan should.be put into effect in North Carolina. We ar going forward in school affairs, may this be our next progressive-step. i Concerning Nor lina High School Norlina School Board Endorses Position Taken by County Super'tendent H. F. Jones. As a matter of information to those interested in an appropriation from the County and State for high school work at Norlina, the Norlina School Board desires to announce that they were informed by Hon. J. Y. Joyner, State Supt. of Public Instruction, on Thursday of last week that our appli cation was considered by the State Board of Education at their regular meeting some time ago, and that ac tion concerning the establishment of a public high school for the County at Norlina was deferred until a later meeting, which will be held in a few days, at which time definite action will be taken. The County Board of Education has approved the location and establish ment of a public high school for the County at Norlina and with the con sent of the State Board of Education a public high school for the county would be established here. Mr. Jones, The Norlina School Board re quests that this be handed to you for publication. W. H. FLEMING, (Principal Norlina Graded School) s fr This agrees entirely with our article in Tuesday's paper that it was a mat ter which the County Board and State Board had to settle, and not "Supt. Jones." HOWARD F. JONES, County Superintendent. i i I ' 1 k to. t i i. "if L. wniWtMi ..V f 1 1 fl ' M m. .. A ii.iii.ih mill an in li p.. ui Wmmt in limp S f TJT.hr.-. 5S SHE a fS I I 1 i s III!
