In Memoriam
VAN KEARNY DAVIS
On January 25, 1934, Van Kearny
Davis pass'ed from the troubled and
trying experiences of this life to
his eternal reward. Van had known
| for some time that his days were
[numbered, and that his time here
i in this old world of trouble and
'sorrow was well nigh spent. Thus
consciously did he live up to the
very last when the summons came
calling him out of his father's and
mother's home into the great beyond.

Van was a 8reat sufferer, yet a i
patient and non-complaining suf- <
ferer. Through his patient suffer- s
ing he drew more closely those near
and dear to him to respect and admire
the fine quality of his soul in i
his resignation to the inevitable. He
enjoyed fellowship with his pastor
and communion together in prayer. \
He believed in prayer. He had j
faith in God. ?
The birth of Van was March 11,
1899. At the age of 13 he joined
Shady Grove Methodist church. He
was married to Miss Crichton Als- t
ton Thorne Feb. 6, 1921. j
He leaves a wife and two dear 1
children, Jean and Van Jr., a de- j
voted mother, who proved her de- j
