Make Plans To 1
Finish Liquidation <
Of Bank of Warren *
V.
Plans for completing the liquida- A,
tion of the Bank of Warren, which t
has paid 85 cents on the dollar v
since its failure in December, 1931, ^
were discussed by representatives of c
the state banking department with
creditors of the local institution at ,
a meeting in the court house on j
ruesday morning.
The upshot of the meeting was j
that a committee of five was ap- t
pointed to appraise the assets of v
the bank, after which steps will be ^
taken, in the event no objections t
are raised on the part of creditors, ^
to complete the liquidation process j,
by alowing notes, bonds, mortgages, ?
or other evidences of indebtedness jto
be bought, sold, traded, or ap
plied to the purchase price of any
assets which the bank contempates ,
offering at pubic auction within 90 '
days. For instance, under the proposed
plan, if one person has a
3redit in the bank, he may sell or
swap the credit to some other per- 0
son and this other person may use u
this credit to appy on the purchase a
price of any assets offered at pub- ?
lie ouction. v
The plan, said to have proven v
practical in other towns in liquidat- 0
ing banks, was submitted by Smith t

partment. He was accompanied by
D. I. Taylor, attorney for the liquid- a
iting agency of Raleigh, and Harold j
