The win was the second for the defending conference champions, who last week got by the improved Mills High club of Louisburg by a 26-19 count. Led by a second-string fullback, Ralph Blowe, Weldon picked up 318 yards rushing over the smaller Warrenton club. Blowe, filling in ior injured Lucky Mitchell, galloped for three touchdowns and 175 of the Weldon ground yardage. : Warrenton, unable to gain substantially on the ground, never threatened but once? when Sophomore End Herman j Rooker made a diving catch on the Weldon four-yard stripe. Four pays later the Jackets had lost yardage and Weldon took over on their own seven yard line Warrenton gained 92 yards on the ground and added an additional 64 yards to tneir total through the airways.
