But there were no tears in I the eyes of some 32 young Warren County school children for whom a brighter Christmas is in store because of an unique project carried out | here last Thursday afternoon by members of the Warrenton Junior Chamber of Commerce Local Javcees teamed up to 1 conduct their first Christmas | ! shopping tour as they carried | the needy children on a search | for Christmas gifts The project was headed by W Monroe Gardner and D. F Diekerson, local insurance j agents. Both expressed pleasure with the tour following] I me rnursday afternoon affair. Ten children from the Afton ! | school and 22 youths from the j . Warrenton school were taken | on a tour of a large Warren-j I ton store. The children were each given $2 50 with which! to purchase items for them-i I selves or gifts for friends and j relatives. It was in this store that one! | little fellow with shining face i looked up at Monroe Gardner ( j and said. "I think you are the ! best man in the world." A J woman standing nearby wept, unashamed j Following the shopping tour, j the children were given a par-j ty at Reid's Pastry Shop here by A. I,. Reid, a member of i the local Jaycee club.
