The February meeting of
the Children of the Confederacy
was held Friday afternoon
at the Warren County Memorial
Library. ;
As February 3rd, is the anniversary
of the birth of Sidney
Lanier, noted Southern
poet, tribute was paid to this
nationally recognized writer.
An historical program was given
on events of 100 years ago
as they related to Warren
County and the state by Mrs.
Henry Twitty.
Valentines were made by the
children for the Warren General
Hospital, and to send to
the Confederate Woman's
Home in Fayctteville.
Gingerbread and grapeade

with a purple throated orchid
and tied with satin streamers.
Miss Anno Lassiter of Henderson
attended as maid of
honor. She was attired in a
street length gown of blue tulle
over matching satin. She wore
a matching headpiece and carried
a nosegay bouquet.
