Circle Meets At Cawthorne Home The Annie Armstrong Circle held its regular monthly meet ing on Monday night at 8 o'clock at the home of Mrs. John T. Cawthorne. Mrs. A. S. Wyckoff. circle chairman, led the worship period and presided over the routine busi ness. The program, "Tidings of Great Joy," was presented with Mrs. Gus Deake, Jr., in charge. The following parts were given: Missionary Exper ience, by Mrs. Jimmy Overby; Period of Directed Prayer, by Mrs. William Brauer. After the ingathering of the offering for foreign missions, Mrs. B. F. Circle Meets At Egerton Home The Margaret Mitchell Cir ! cle met at the home of Mrs. F. M. Egerton on Monday morning at 10 o'clock with ten attending. Mrs. H. J. Holtzman en tertained at a luncheon and general monthly meeting of tho Zion Home Demonstration Club at her home on Tuesday. Upon arrival members were served an attractive three course luncheon from a long diningroom table covered with a yellow and green cloth I which Mrs. Holtzman had made' for her Thanksgiving cover. The menu consisted of spiced tomato cocktail, potato chips and a delicious homemade dunking sauce, tossed salad,! herb beef stew, which included rarrots and potatoes, hot rolls,! butter, coffee, and chocolate | ;ake with a caramel icine. Circle 2 Meets At Perkinson Home Circle 2 of the WMS of the Wise Baptist Church met on Tuesday evening in the home of Mrs. Frank Perkinson with Mrs. Oma White co-hostess. Mrs. M. S. Dryden, chairman, presided. Mrs. A. T. Ayscue gave the devotion and medita tion. Mrs. Oma White presented the program, "The Eyes of the World," with Mrs. Sol Perkin son, Miss Emma Dunn, Mrs. Edith Comer and Mrs. Frank Perkinson taking part. Mrs. G. W. Tunstall led the closing prayer. Several items of business were discussed. Plans were made for the Lottie Moon Sea son of Prayer to be held on Sunday, December 3. Mrs. Clanton C. Franks were honored at a reception in observance of their 25th wedding anniversary on Sunday evening in the Lutheran Parish Hall by mem bers of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Mrs. Franke was pre sented a corsage of white car nations and the Rev. Mr. Franke received a white carna tion boutonniere. The table bore a white linen cloth and was centered with an arrangement of chrysanthe mums, gladioli and fern. Plac ed at one end of the table was the three-tiered wedding cake, decorated in white and silver bells and adorned with the miniature bri'e and groom which was taken from their WMS Circle Meets With Mrs. Pridgen The Lottie Moon WMS Cir cle held its regular monthlj | meeting in the home of Mrs I Leon Pridgen on Monday even ing. Mrs. Howard Edmonds presided and opened the meet ing with scripture reading from St. John. It was announced that the circle will be in charge of the church nursery on the second Sunday in December. The group also voted to help a needy family at Christmas. , The missionary program was I taken from the Royal Service Magazine, "Good Tidings to All People," Luke 2:10. Those taking part were Mesdames Earl Stegall, Larry Bryson, W. E. Muichi, Jr., Howard Ed monds and W. M. Felts. Mrs. Bryson rendered Christmas music on her violin. Mrs. W. W. Shearin closed the meeting with a prayer for missionaries around the world. During the social hour the hostess served sandwiches, brownies, nuts and Cokes to the ten members present.
