Farm machinery experts from State College and farm machinery companies were1 present to discuss the equip-1 ment and demonstrat its use. ] Equipment present included all kinds of tractors and ma chinery used for preparation j to irrigation to harvest. Reams quoted one farmer; as saying, "This stuff surely looks good but if I buy these gadgets I will have to really get on 'the ball'." Reams said that farmers are interested in buying and the, dealers interested in sell ing, but there is always a fi nancial side of the picture that must be solved. "A good num ber of farmers are doing just that," he added. Warren County dealers and customers cooperating in the field day were: Warrenton Livestock Market, Warrenton; Pittard Motor and Implement Co., Warrenton; Pitt Tractor and Equipment Co., Littleton; Warrenton Cotton Sc Fertilizer Co., Warrenton; Atwill & Gow en, Warrenton; Walker Bur well, Warrenton; and _ C. Gaston, man ager for Carolina Power & Light Company, this week out lined some safety measures that Kite-flyers should follow to make the pastime safe as well as enjoyable. He suggested these safety rules: Avoid flying kites near power or telephone lines. Choose an open field or pas- j ture instead. If a kite string1 becomes entangled in a power or telephone line .leave it. Call a CP&L crew or someone experienced to remove it. Nev er climb a pole to dislodge the kite yourself. Never use a string with metal strands, because this can act as a ground and cause shock if it comes in contact with a power line. He suggests a dry cotton string. Don't fly kites near busy streets or highways, because there is always a danger of darting in front of a moving vehicle while watching a kite. He concluded that "we all enjoy flying kites; it's a whole some pastime. But like' other types of fun. it has some safety rules to follow." Report of A. P.
