Miss Twitty Guest At Azalea Festival Miss Panthea Anne Twitty, State President of the North Carolina Division, Children of the Confederacy, was the guest of Mrs. J. S. Crowley, Division Director, and Miss Ann IIew-|| lett, former president of the General Organization of the Children of the Confederacy, during the Azalea Festival in Wilmington April 6-8. Plans for the program for the 25th annual convention which will be held in Salis bury in June were worked out. Although C. of C. chapters have been organized and ac tively sponsored by UDC Chap ters since the first chapter was chartered in Washington, N. C., in 1897, this year marks the silver anniversary of the state organization. With her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Twitty, and Billy Twitty, Miss Twitty and her hostesses took in many of the festival events: three hour fes tival parade, Cottage Lane art exhibit, tour of Orton Planta tion, Old Brunswick, Airlie Gardens, historic St. John's Lodge, which was formally re opened during the festival, tour of the destroyer, USS Mulllnnlx," by sailor guide, and the snorkel submarine, USS "Grampus," and Green field Gardens and Lake.
