Good-byes were said to Mrs. Dixon by the 50 guests attend Warrenton Girl One of Leader* Of Debutante Ball A Warrenton girl has been selected as one of 14 Tar Heel debutantes by the Terpslchor ean Club of Raleigh to lead the 1962 North Carolina Debu tante Ball. Miss Rosa Heath Beckwith. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Beckwith of Warrenton, will be among the debutantes form ing the inner circle of a color ful cartwheel?the traditional figure at the "coming out" presentation September 7. The Terpsichorean Club, sponsors of the annual week end event, also announced that Miss Bettie Freeman White of Raleigh has been selected to lead the statewide event in Raleigh September 7 and 8. Both Miss White and Miss Beckwith are students at St. Mary's Junior College. Mrs. Terry Sanford, the state's First Lady, will serve as honorary chairman for the ball and will serve as hostess for several of the debutante events. Assistants for the ball were evenly divided between the eastern and western sec tions of the state. Sunbeam Camp To Be Conducted Songs, study and recreation will be on the agenda Wed nesday for children participat ing in the Sunbeam Day Camp scheduled to be held at Gard ner's Baptist Church. Mrs. Claude Haithcock, camp director, said Thursday that only eight-year-old children may attend the camp,which is slated to begin at 10 a. m. Activities will close about 2:45 p. m . she said. Heading the staff for the camp will be Miss Delores Hamrick, state Sunbeam lead ers. Mrs. Haithcock said. She said that any eight-year-old child, while not a Sunbeam, will be welcomed at the camp. All children have been request ed to bring a sandwich and a blanket or towel. Laymen To Preach At Local Church Two Presbyterian laymeh will conduct services at the W arrenton Presbyterian Church on Sunday morning. Charles U .White, III, and Sam A. Warlick, Jr., will speak on the "Assurance of Salva tion" at the regular morning worship service. The pastor, the Rev. Levi Humphreys, will be on vaca tion through the month of August. In Duke Hospital Chief of Police R .D. Chewn ing is in Warren General Hos pital for treatment. Receiving Treatment Mrs. M. E. Wilson of Afton is receiving treatment in War ren General Hospital.
