TOBACCO FALL CULTURE There has been a greater per cent of tobacco stalk* cot and turned up this fall thaa in any previous fall in the history of the county. Thl* is a very profitable trend and will add green backs to your bank account for years to come. You will be a nema tode murderer but this is one time you can legeallv be a murderer and receive com mendations for a job well done. WE CAN PRODUCE COTTON For proof of this statement, take a close look at the two pirtures above. In one pic ture voir see Glenn Toomey, Extension Cotton Specialist, congratulating Frederick Wil liams on his high cotton yields of some over a bale to the acre and advising him on a few pointers on how tit improve- the yield next year. Mr. Williams and Taylor Mu? titn used Karmax pre-emerg ence weed control and spray ed seven or eight times to hold the boll weevil in check. In the other picture, you see V. A. Coleman and L. B. Hard age inspecting Mr. Cole man's cotton that will pro duce some over a bale to the acre. Mr. Coleman used Kar m; x pro-emergence weed con trcl and treated four times! to hold down the parasitic: bell weevils. Both these cotton produc- J ers are following methods that resjlt in excellent yields. Of course, there is some ex tra cost but this expense is; low compared to the increas ed income. It is a shame1 you people, have to fight I weeds and insects but they, a*e here regardless of our wishes, therefore, if you want! profits all you can do is roll j up your sleeves and buckle | down to the job.
