Brown, principal, said yesterday. All children who are six years of I age on or before October 15 are urged to attend. Carraway Wed St. James Methodist Church in Tarboro was the setting [ on Sunday afternoon for the marriage of Miss Mary Bur-| well Davis and Harold Ver-j non Carraway. The Rev.j Robert Stewart Brodie, uncle of the bride, officiated in a double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Carey Davis of Inez. The bride I groom's parents are Mr. and i Mrs. Raeford Carraway of Snow Hill. | Arrangements of mixed I white flowers and sttven branched cadelabra with burn ; ing tapers decorated the al t?r The bride entered the church alone and wore a short ballerina gown of im ported silk trimmed with motifs of chantilly lace. Her simple bodice was styled with] a sweetheart neckline and! bracelet-length sleeves. The! full skirt was styled with a bustle of chantilly lace flow ing to a scalloped hemline. I Her veil was attached io, aj crown of pearls and lace, and| she carried, a bouquet of pom poms and glosiephelia center ed with a white orchid. Miss Elizabeth Davis of Inez was her sister's maid of honor. Her dress was of light blue chiffon over taf feta, and she carried a nose gay of mixed flowers in pas tel shades. Best man was James Carra way, brother of the groom, of Kinston. Ushers were Dalton Holloman of Enfield and Mar shall Carr of Wilson, brother in-law of the groom. A program of nuptial music was rendered by Mrs. Edgar Hart organist, and Mr. Jim Mann of Newport News, Va., brother-in-law of the groom, soloist, who sang "O Promise Me," "Because," and "The Lord's Prayer." Traditional wedding marches were used. The bride's mother wore a pink dress and matching ac cessories. Mrs. Carraway wore a navy dress with matching accessories, and each had a lavendar orchid corsage Mrs. Carraway is a I960 graduate of Woman's College, Greensboro, with a B.S. in Home Economics Education and has been assistant Home Economics Extension Agent In Greene County since grad uation. The bridegroom at tended King's Business Col lege, Raleigh, and is a fed eral employee in Raleigh where they will reside after a wedding trip to Florida. For travel, the bride chang ed to a light blue linen suit and a white straw pillbox hat. She wore the orchid lifted from her wedding bouquet. Immediately after the cere mony, a reception was held at the home of the Rev. Mr. and Mrs. Brodie, given by the Brodies on<I the bride's par eats, Mr. and Mrs. Davis. Honored At Tea Miss Mary Burwell Davis, bride-elect of March 31, waa honored at a tec on March 35, given by the Greene County Rome Demonstration Council at the American Le gion Building in Snow Hill. Guests were met by Mrs. Haywood Rill and introduced to the receiving line, consist ing of the honoree, her moth er, Mrs. J. C. Davis of lam. and the bridegroom-elect's mother, Mrs. Raeford Carra way of Snow HilL Mrs. W. B. Cox, Mrs. 7). D. Fields, Mrs. Walter Heath, Mrs. Lawrence Nethercutt, Mrs. L. L. Hardy, Mrs. Emma Mae Jones, Mrs. Royce Hill, Mrs. Carl Barrow, Mrs. Willie Norris, Mrs. John Poole and Mrs. Clifton Tyson. The table was overlaid with a white linen outwork cloth and centered with an arrangement of white daffo dils and bridal wreath spirea flanked with white tapers. Greenery and white flowers of the bridal motif decorated the building. The bride-elect was present ed a gift of silver in her chosen pattern. Bride-Elect Feted Miss Mary Burwell Davis, bride-elect of March 31, was honored at a tea on Friday afternoon from four to six o'clock in the home of Mrs. Arthur Williams, which was gaily decorated with spring flowers. The honoree was presented a carnation corsage by her hostesses, Mrs. Wil liams, Miss Mary Carey Har ris of Franklin, Va. .and Mr*. Ben Harris of Inez. Fifty guests attended from Inez, Warrenton, Areola and Greensboro. In the dining room Russian tea and coffee were poured by the honoree's mother, Mrs. John Carey Davis. The table was covered with an Italian linen cut-work cloth and waa centered with an ar rangement of white bridal wreath, narcissus and candy tuft in a silver bowl, which was flanked by burning tap-! ers Miss Naacy Lewis Wil-1 liams asisted in serving ham; biscuits, cream puffs filled! with chicken salad, decorated j cakes, miniature lemon and | cherry tarts, cheese straws, i nuts and mints. A special guest was the bride-elect's sister, Miss Eliza-1 beth Davis of Greensboro. ; Renew your subscription. < Paschall Funeral Held On Sunday Funeral services for Verna| Thomas Paschall, 67, were: held at Zion Methodist Church at 2:30 p. m. Sunday by the! Rev D. F. Funderburk, Pas-1 tor. Burial was in the church cemetery Mr. Paschall, a veteran of j World War I, died in Veteran Hospital, Durham at 12:15 a. m. He had been in declining health for 14 months and had i been critically ill for two, months. Surviving are hi* widow, the former Margaret WiUUou; a son, John R. Paschall of Norlina; a brother, J. R. Paschall of Charlotte; and two sisters, Mrs. Ella Mill iard of Raleigh and Mn. Eleanor White of Norlina. Undergoes Surgery G E.
