Yancey with Mesdames E. L. Perry, K D. Perry and Leigh Tray ' lor as co-hostesses. Mrs. Stephen Daniel presided and Mrs. Ernest Brauer gave the 1 devotional. Mrs. Hal White. Jr., pro cram chairman. presented Mrs. Mildred Hicks, who gave a program on "Western Unit 1 cd States," with the aid of excellent slides she and her family took while on a trip there several summers ago Mrs. G. G. Hendrick gave a report on the Murdock School. Mrs. Leigh Traylor and Mrs. L O. Robertson. Jr., will attend the State Federation meeting in Asheville May 1-3. M<-^. Traylor will be an hon ored guest during this time. Mrs. Daniel, president of the club, expressed her ap preciation for the fine work and cooperation during the coronation of Mrs. Traylor She also said she wishes to thank the Literature and Music Club, the Norlina Sen ior Woman's Club, the Ruri-! tan Club, the Merchants As sociation, Myrel's Shop, the Norlina Supermarket, and Odom's Flower Shop in War renton. The hostesses served cheese biscuits, nuts, cake squares, candies, shrimp toast and punch. Literature, Music Club Holds Meeting Mrs. J. T Walker and Miss ? Minnie Harris were hostesses | to the Norlina Literature and j Music Club at a four-course ; dinner last Thursday evening J at 7 o'clock at the Norlina I Woman's Clubhouse. Twenty j club members were present. 1 The tables were beautifully ] decorated with spring flowers j and attractive place cards j were used. After the dinner hour, Mrs. I A. S. Wyckoff presided over | the regular monthly meeting I of the club. The program was under the [ direction of the literature committee, composed of Mes dames M F. Hayes, W. V Hicks, W. S. Hicks and W. O. Reed. The subject of the program was "The Carolina Charter of the Tercenten nary." Mrs. Reed showed pictures of historical land marks of the state, describing the same and brought it up to the present time by show-1 ing pictures of college cam puses. She also showed out standing pictures of North Carolina, such as the gardens of Wilmington and the Capi tol in Raleigh. Mrs. W. V. Hicks gave a talk on songs and ballads, such as "Roger's Courtship," and "Love Will Find the Way." A report on the Physical Fitness Confer ence was given by Kay Parks and a ialent skit was pre sented by each of the FHA Clubs. Stew Sale The Youth Fellowship of the Warren Plains Methodist Church will sponsor a Bruns wick Stew sale at the church on Saturday, April 27. The stew, which will be ready at noon, will sell for 75c per quart, or 85c per quart if container is furned by the Fellowship. In case of bad weather the sale will be postponed.
