Family Affair
A junior executive we know
came home to find his young
son sitting on the curb out
side the house, a brooding
expression on his face.
"What's the matter, Joey?"
he asked.
"Aw," said the boy bitterly,
"I just had a big fight with
your wife."

TOBACCO PLANT SUPPLY
Willie Joe Robertson, Rt.
1, Warrenton had tobacco
plants to spare this year. In
the picture above you seej
Mr. and Mrs. Robertson and!
helper mechanically trans
planting tobacco and another
helper pegging in missed hills. I
Mr. Robertson located his
Methyl Bromide treated beds ,
in a nice location, well pro- j
tected from the winds by
trees. He set up his irrigation j
system so when the need
arose he put in a little gas, ,
applied a little elbow grease (
and the drought disappeared. (
Not only did he have ade- ,
quate plants for his farm j
but gave away thousands. Mr. ^
Robertson followed a plant (
production program that out
did the desired accomplish
ments of a couny agent.
GOLF TEE
Who would have thought a
golf tee had a place other
than on a golf course? Con
nell and Son Dairy has dis
covered another use They
have a board in the milking;
parlor lined off with the!
names of cows down the left
side and listings of import
ant events across the top,
such as days the cows are
expected to become mothers,
date to dry the cow, etc. The
tees are colored and each
color has a meaning. This
is an excellent method to
keep up with special events
and it can be observed every
day by a casual glance.
COTTON STANDS
A good number of cotton
producers are experiencing
very poor cotton stands and
in a number of cases such
people are disking the soil
and planting soybeans. The
ASCS office has advised farm
ers plowing up such cotton
to be sure the borders of
the fields are well marked
so the land can be measured
and give credit for cotton
planted in order to maintain
the cotton allotment.
