Stultz, Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. Baptist WMS Holds Meeting At Church The Woman's Missionary Society of the Norlina Baptist Church held its general meet ing at the church last Mon Fuller. chairman. presided and offered prayer. During the business period, the Season of Prayer for For eign Missions was discussed and a goal of $293 was set for the LotHe Moon Christ mas offering. The missionary program was under the direction of the Annie Armstrong Circle. Scripture reading, meditation and prayer were led by Mrs. Edith Cawthorne, circle chair man. The topic, "Partners for Progress in Japan." was discussed by Mrs. Gladys Wemyss, Mrs. Jean Williams and Tillie Daeke. An attrac tive poster and map added to the effectiveness of the pro gram. An attractive arrange ment of mums was used on the panel table. Twenty-eight were present for the meeting, with the An nie Armstrong Circle winning the attendance pin. The Margaret Mitchell Cir cle will have charge of the program at the next meeting. Talk On Antiques Is Highlight Of Meet Mrs. G. O. Stultz, Sr., and Mrs. Wallace Newman were hostesses at the November meeting of the Norlina Wo man's' Club last Wednesday evening at the Norlina Club House. The meeting was called to order by the presi dent, Mrs. Alice Stultz, fol lowed with a devotional by Mrs. L. C. Davis, club chap lain. Mrs L. A. Kilian. program chairman for the month of November, introduced Mr. Robert Scott who gave a most interesting talk on "Antiques." During the business session the group voted to sell pea nuts again this year as a fund raising project. Open face sandwiches, pie and cof fee were served to the 16 members present. Mrs. W. K. Zion Methodist Church will sponsor a turkey supper at the crurch educational build ing on Wednesday, Nov. 20, beginning at 5:30 p. m. The price will be $1.25 for adults and 75c for children. Pro ceeds will be used for the benefit of the church. Purchase Nursing Home Mr. and Mrs. William Mus tian have purchased the Brame Nursing Home on Walker Avenue in Norlina. They moved to their new home this week where they will operate a nursing home. Births A baby girl, weighing eight pounds, was born on Nov. i, to Mrs. Ruthann Paschall, wife of Airman Second Class James L. Paschall, Jr., USAF, at U. S. Army Tripler Gen eral Hospital, Honolulu, Hawaii. A/2C Paschall, who is sta tioned at Hickam Air Force Base, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. G. F. SjJmon of Nor lina. Mrs. Paschall is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Parkins of 226 Center Drive. Honolulu, Hawaii.
