Suspended Sentence Given In Neal Case A Warr?n County man who pled guilty to a number of charges In Warren County Re corder's Court last Friday had a year's road sentence sus pended for two years. Vance Nlchlous Neal, charg ed with speeding,drnnk driving, resisting arrest, and assault with an auto, pled not guilty but after all the evidence was presented to a jury changed his plea to using profanity on the public highway within hear ing of two or more persons, guilty of speeding 50 miles per hour in a 35-mlle zone, guilty of wilfully and unlaw fully resisting, delaying and obstructing a public officer in the discharge or attempting to discharge" aduty of tits offtcev The State accepted the plea. Neal was sentenced to the roads for one year, but the sentence was suspended lor two years upon the condition defen dant not violate any public laws of state for two years, remain of good behavior, keep peace -toward alt?persons, and pay a $200 fine and court costs. In other cases, JohnD. Capps was found guilty of drunk driving and ordered to pay a $100 fine and court costs. James Walter Barnes pled guilty to a charge of operat ing a motor vehicle without an operator's license and was fined $25.00 and ordered to pay court costs. Walter David Weaver, who was ordered to pay court costs. Brother Warrenton Woman Dies Monday Last rites for Mrs. Cary Tuttle Sloop, wife of the late, L. L. Sloop of High Point, who died at Clapps Convalescent Home Asheboro on Monday, were held on Wednesday morn ing at the Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro with interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Salis bury. Mrs. Sloop was the daughter of the late Rev. D. R. Tuttle and Ella Wescott Tuttle. The Rev. Mr. Tuttle served in the N. C. Methodist Conference over 40 years. Survivors include one brother, Herndon Tuttle of Palm Bay, Fla.,; three sisters, Mrs. W. R. Woodall of Warrenton, Mrs. I. C.
